Maritime Conference "Trends in Container Shipping"

Trends in international container shipping

Conference on 9.-10. December 2008 at World Trade Center Bremen

Description

The container shipping industry has recently seen some of its most successful years in history. However, it is about to face a period of accelerated fleet expansion during a time when the global economy is suffering e.g. from a financial crisis. In the near future, an unprecedented number of ultra large container carriers will be deployed and undoubtedly have a significant impact on the liner industry, affecting fleet structures, strategies, capacity utilisation and other aspects. At the same time, the shipping markets in general are influenced by taxation schemes, sharply rising operation costs, restrictions in port capacities etc.

The ISL is organising the World Container Shipping Conference in Bremen in order to highlight and discuss the most important issues of a still booming container shipping market with a number of distinguished speakers from industry, research and other major stakeholders.

The conference will cover demand and supply developments in the container shipping market, charter and freight rates, new building requirements as well as second-hand and newbuilding prices. Last but not least participants will be given an excellent opportunity for networking.

We would be happy to meet you in Bremen.
