SICIS combines container monitoring and AIS - vessel tracking
In September 2009 INTEGRITY implemented its IT platform, the Shared Intermodal Container Information System SICIS. SICIS tracks containers along the entire logistics chain and registers all data and related events which are generated during the transport. SICIS regularly monitors the INTEGRITY consortium members’ containers from China to Europe.(...)

ISL participates with germanwind on Cluster of Excellence competition
Together with about 150 partner companies and institutions situated in the northwest of Germany, the ISL takes part in the "germanwind - wind energy cluster in the Northwest Region" of the 2009 Cluster of Excellence competition of the Federal Government.

IJSTL special issue on "Container Security and Supply Chain Visibility": Deadline extended
The special issue of the International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics (IJSTL) on "Container Security and Supply Chain Visibility" will be published in 2010 and focuses on innovative concepts and visions about how security and optimisation of logistics processes, which create real supply chain visibility, can be obtained in the best possible and acceptable way. Contributions may focus on one issue (e.g. a technological solution) or – preferably - on a complete picture of future procedures. Therefore, the presentation of different scenarios for possible developments and roadmaps is envisaged.

Proceedings of the ISL Maritime Conference 2008 - Trends in Container Shipping
The focus of the ISL Maritime Conference in December 2008 in Bremen stood - with the beginning of the economic and financial crisis - at trends and perspectives of international container shipping markets. Now, the ISL has published the related conference proceedings "Trends in Container Shipping", edited by Prof Dr Burkhard Lemper and Prof Dr Manfred Zachcial.

2nd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics successfully concluded
The conference, which was focused on "Energy Efficient and Sustainable Logistics" was held on the 29th and 30th of October in Venice.

NS FRITS on German Interreg IV B information event in Bremerhaven
On 4th November this year's German information event of the Interreg IVB North Sea program was held in Bremerhaven, hosted by the federal states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein and the relevant federal departments. About 140 participants from economy, science, administration and politics listened and discussed the latest information on the projects and project ideas from the North Sea program.

After only one year SICIS is ready for use - The first SICIS monitored container arrived Europe
After a project duration of only one year, the EU-funded project INTEGRITY - Intermodal Global Door-to-door Container Supply Chain Visibility - has put the IT-platform SICIS - Shared Intermodal Container Information System - into practice. (...)
