German Maritime Competence Network (DMKN)

The Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL), the German Marine Institute (DMI) and the Association for Maritime Technologies (GMT) pooled together for the German Maritime Competence Network (DMKN).
The DMKN bundles maritime competence with qualified contents, accredited experts and informative contributions from partners from industry, trade, marine industry, associations and public institutions.
All private and public actors within the maritime industry and their environment could participate in DMKN.
The actual portal DMKN will be enhanced with financial help from the ministries.
The DMKN portal is divided in three competence centres. ISL is responsible for the competence centre "Maritime Economy".

Indonesia Maritime Institute (IMI)

Indonesia Maritime Institute (IMI) was established in 1997 primarily as a specialist maritime-related training provider, but in consonance with changing maritime and market conditions, we also offer a limited range of maritime research to meet client needs and requirements.
Indonesia Maritime Institute exists to provide professional maritime-related training programs and will be the leading maritime organisation in its field, meeting the needs and promoting the interests of all who work in maritime industry from shipowners to ports, terminals, charterers, agents, government regulators and safety authorities, classification societies, marine insurers and P&I clubs.

Information and Documentation Network for Transport (IuDVV)

The ISL Information Centre/Library is member of the Information and Documentation Network for Transport. The IuDVV is a network of transport-related information and documentation centres with the goal of cataloguing the literature on transport-related issues and making it available to the public. Available on request are ? as in the ISL Information Centre also ? issue specific surveys of literature provide information based on specialised literature, keep facts and figures. The information and documentation services provided by the members of the network vary in type and scope.

The LIN was established in October, 2007 to collect, exchange and disseminate information to provide the fertile environments for interdisciplinary research and the freely accessible database on maritime and port logistics with strong partnership within the network for interdisciplinary research and information sharing.

Instituto Iberico das Cidades Portuarias (INICIP)

INICIP and ISL work together closely to the concern of the increasing importance of ports and port cities in the social and economic development of the countries world-wide. This requires studies about harmonious and integrated development of ports and port cities to analyse respective specificities and complementarities.

Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung GmbH (InWent)

ISL is involved in the educational curriculum of inWent (Capacity Building International, Germany). The program is organised by a consortium, composed of ISL, the DAV, ITECO and BLG-Consult. The individual seminars will take place at different locations in Bremen, f.e. at ISL. Excursions and visitations round off the program.

The Baltic Sea Forum is a non-profit organization which supports the economical, political and cultural co-operation in the Baltic Sea region.
It was founded in 1992 in Helsinki as a German-Finnish organization named Pro Baltica Forum. It supports the co-operation with the Baltic States as well as with the whole Baltic region, sees to the relations between the European Union and Russia and the development of the south-north-relation between the Baltic and the Mediterranean.

Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V.

Bundesvereinigung Logistik serves as a neutral platform for communication between logistics managers and experts and has around 7,000 members from the top echelons of industry, trade, services and science. It generates stimuli and ideas for cross-sector, future-oriented logistics concepts to secure the competitiveness of companies both in Germany and abroad. Through its contacts to organisations with a similar focus, BVL is the key forum for the national and international exchange of logistics ideas and experience between management executives.

LogDynamics

The Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics - LogDynamics - (foundet 1995 as Research Network Logistics of the Bremen University ? FoLo) is a cooperation network as well of the faculties of physics/electrical engineering, mathematics/informatics, industrial engineering and economics as the institutes BIBA ? Bremer Institut für Betriebstechnik and angewandte Arbeitswissenschaft ? and ISL ? Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics. Main focus of LogDynamics is the strengthening of competence and innovation in logistics in Bremen by the university and scientific research institutes.

Race Network RFID

The Race Network RFID is a EU thematic network project with the aim to concentrate the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) know how of the member states and to exploit the opportunities in the fields of development, implementation and usage. All in all the network wishes to create awareness towards this technology and wants to position RFID within the mainstream of information and communication technologies.
