Road distance and German Maut calculation

A reliable way to determine road distances between locations is a crucial task for the calculation of transport services. Since the introduction of the German motorway toll in the beginning of 2005, an additional cost factor has emerged which has to enter into the calculation.

ISL offers a lean and cost effective solution for determining distances and calculating transport prices: EMaS. Based on the EWS distance data published by dds, EMaS can evaluate distances between over 434.000 locations across Europe. Additionally EMaS can determine motorway distances liable to German toll, automatically finding the most suitable border crossing point into and out of Germany for international transports.

The software allows the entry of an arbitrary number of waypoints. Distances are determined from point to point as well as in total. International, national (german) and motorway distances are shown. The rates per km for transport and toll can be entered separately.

The functions of the current version include:

• distances in Germany and Europe
• separate determining of German toll kilometres
• automatic lookup of the most suitable border station for international transports
• display of point to point and overall distances
• calculation of freight and toll costs based on rates per kilometre
• calculation of rates per kilometre based on freight and toll costs

The EMaS license includes the basic EWS distance data.

EMaS is suitable for both single seated installations and multi-user installations in a company network. The price for EMaS includes both the software and the underlying EWS distance data. With a support & upgrade contract you will receive yearly updates of the software and the EWS distance data.
