Within the framework of cooperation between the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the Department of Ports and Maritime Transport at the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the ISL, twelve students with their supervisor are guests in the city of Bremen again. The aim of the individual 4 weeks training seminar from 02nd to 29th July 2017 at ISL is to provide the participants insights into the interactions of the port-related supply chain and outline maritime logistics. Even last summer students from Jeddah visited the Hanseatic City for a month and successfully took part in the ISL Logistics Training.
In addition to various lectures, courses and workshops such as Green Ports and Environmental Shipping, Challenges and New Developments in Logistics, Process of Port Planning in Germany, Port Cooperation and Logistics Clusters, Decentralized Control of Operations, Extended Gateways and Dry Ports, Stakeholders Driving Forces, Shipping Markets, Port Security Issues, Supply Chain Security, Freight Villages in Germany also interesting excursions take place. Thus, the future logisticians visit, among other things, the container terminal in Hamburg, the automobile terminal and cruise terminal in Bremerhaven, intermodal freight handling in the freight village Bremen or the port of Cuxhaven.
