The 34th NOFOMA Conference took place on 9th and 10th of June 2022.
The annual conference is organised by the Nordic Logistics Research Network (NOFOMA) and was this year held in Reykjavik, Iceland. On site, the conference was organized by the University of Iceland, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
NOFOMA is a society of Nordic researchers within the logistics field. Besides being a contact network of logistics scientists sharing similar interests, the main activity of the network is to carry out the annual conference where all researchers from the Nordic countries and other colleagues from different countries around the world meet and have the opportunity for an interdisciplinary exchange within the field of logistics.
The ISL - Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics was also present and represented by Rainer Müller. He presented the paper "Climate Change Adaptation in Maritime Logistics", which contains results of the BREsilient project. The paper describes the vulnerability of maritime logistics to climate change impacts, as well as corresponding adaptation measures. The presentation was well received and the applicability of the adaptation measures was discussed afterwards.
Overall, the sessions on sustainability and risk management were well attended at this conference, which once again confirms the topicality
