Cargo crime such as cargo theft and smuggling is very lucrative for organized gangs. Despite rising damage sums, this issue is often underestimated - exact numbers of incidents do not exist, and the dark figure is high according to experts. Whereas in the past criminals especially focused on valuable cargo, there is a trend towards the theft of beverages and food, which are more difficult to track and are easier to turn into money.
Prof. Dr. Frank Arendt, Managing Director of ISL, will discuss the topic "Protection against IT attacks on ports" at the DVZ Forum Security in Logistics on 25.04.2017 in Dusseldorf and will present the project PortSec. The conference will focus on the topics of cargo theft and cybercrime.
