OECD includes RWI/ISL Container Throughput Index as indicator for world trade development

In view of the uncertainty about the development of world trade in the face of current trade conflicts, up-to-date information on global commodity flows is becoming increasingly important.

ISL is pleased to announce that the RWI/ISL Container Throughput Index has been included in the biannual „World Economic Outlook“ of the OECD as an indicator for the development of world maritime trade. The index is published regularly at the end of the month and contains flash estimates for the previous month based on first container handling data from ports all over the world.

The index had already been included in the „World Trade Statistical Review“ of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in summer 2018.
