TRUSTEE project officially launched
On 25 February 2025, the kick-off meeting of the Horizon Europe project TRUSTEE (fuTuRe proof efficieNt and sUStainable deploymenT of zEwt) took place in Naples, Italy. The event was organised by the Fondazione ISSNOVA and brought together project partners and representatives of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD). ISL is involved as a partner in this forward-looking project.
TRUSTEE aims to support decision-makers and stakeholders from politics, industry, investment, technology and operations with sound findings and recommendations for the transition to Zero-Emission Waterborne Transport (ZEWT). The sustainable transformation of water transport is to be driven forward through scientifically sound analyses and practice-oriented solutions.
Core areas and expected results:
- Scenarios for 2030 and 2050 that provide a sound basis for decision-making for the development of the ZEWT system
- Identification of promising use cases for achieving the zero-emission targets
- Multi-stakeholder assessment framework that supports cross-sectoral decision-making processes
- Action-oriented recommendations to overcome challenges and accelerate ZEWT implementation
- Shared knowledge base to equip stakeholders with the necessary tools for timely and effective implementation
The TRUSTEE project is supported by an international consortium. In addition to the Fondazione ISSNOVA (Italy) as coordinator, the following partners are involved:
RINA Germany GMBH (Germany), NAVTEC (Italy), ForMare - Polo Nazionale per lo Shipping (Italy), Fundación Valenciaport (Spain), AGSKK (Germany) and us as the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics.
