HibeBB project launched
Longer and more intense heat waves increase health and accident risks in the workplace, especially for outdoor activities. With HibeBB – Heat Protection for Particularly Exposed Occupational Groups in the State of Bremen, the Smart Mobility Institute (Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences) and the ISL are developing practical packages of measures for companies.
The goals are effective protection and communication concepts as well as tailor-made training modules.
By early 2027, information resources and training courses will be available for safety engineers and company doctors, among others. The approach complements the State of Bremen's heat action plan and can be transferred to other industries.
The ISL is contributing its climate resilience expertise from the maritime industry and logistics.
HibeBB is supported by the Central Implementation Programme for Adaptation to Climate Change (ZUP) with funding from the ERDF and the state. BAB – the development bank for Bremen and Bremerhaven – is supporting the programme. The project volume amounts to around €336,000.
