High-ranking delegation from Kenia and South Africa in Bremerhaven
Last week, ISL project manager Friederike Woltmann together with Jochen Kreß, head of department for environmental and climate affairs at the Bremen Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation, welcomed a delegation from Kenya and South Africa organized by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) to Bremerhaven.
The 29 high-ranking experts from the fields of ports as well as hydrogen and PtX technologies visited a number of Bremerhaven locations as part of the excursion. The aim was to exchange knowledge and information and to present current activities and projects in Bremerhaven in the field of production and application of green hydrogen and PtX fuels.
The day started at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES) with the presentation of the innovative electrolyzer test field of the Hydrogen Lab Bremerhaven.
In the second part of the program, the delegation visited the laboratories of the Technology Transfer Center (ttz) Bremerhaven, where, among other things, the MariSynFuel project was presented, which has the aim to develop synthetic methanol for shipping.
This was followed by a tour around the EUROGATE Container Terminal Bremerhaven, where the participants were provided with exciting insights into the logistics processes, sustainability measures and the terminal’s future visions.
Finally, there was a tour around the plant for commercial production of green hydrogen operated by the start-up Green Fuels GmbH as well as Bremerhaven’s new hydrogen filling station that will soon be opening.
ISL would like to thank all those involved who supported this exciting day of international exchange.
