ISL at the Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2026
We have just come through three days packed with fascinating discussions, new contacts and valuable insights into the future of the hydrogen economy. From 20 to 22 October 2026, the ISL was represented at the Hydrogen Technology World Expo (HTWE) in Hamburg.
Once again, this international trade fair brought together companies, research institutions and experts from all over the world to discuss the latest developments, innovative technologies and forward-looking solutions in the hydrogen sector.
Together with other companies and institutions, the ISL exhibited at the joint stand organised by WFB Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen GmbH. The exhibition offered numerous opportunities for interesting discussions, professional exchanges and networking with stakeholders from the worlds of research and industry. The focus was particularly on the potential of hydrogen for the energy transition.
We were particularly delighted to welcome Maike Frese, State Councillor for Economic Affairs of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, to our joint stand. Her visit provided a further opportunity to discuss developments and prospects in the hydrogen economy.
Another highlight was the presentation by Prof. Dr Nils Meyer-Larsen, Managing Director of the ISL, as part of the conference held alongside the trade fair, and the interview for the podcast “Was jetzt passieren muss” (“What Needs to Happen Now”) produced by *Erneuerbare Energien* magazine. Nils Meyer-Larsen presented the H2B:IMPACT project, which is establishing Germany’s first EU-funded Hydrogen Valley in the state of Bremen. In this forward-looking project, the ISL is responsible for technical coordination and is helping to advance hydrogen applications in industry, ports and mobility.
We can look back on three successful days at the trade fair and would like to thank the WFB for organising the joint stand, as well as all visitors and discussion partners for the inspiring exchanges!
A big thank you also goes to the Dieckell Foundation in Bremerhaven for its kind support of our exhibition presence.
