Delegation visits Hyperlink construction site in Folmhusen
Last Friday, our colleague Friederike Fontes, head of the Maritime Hydrogen research group at ISL, joined a delegation of hydrogen experts from industry, science, and administration on a special tour of Gasunie's Hyperlink hydrogen pipeline construction site in the district of Leer.
Led by project manager Lara Amelie Hauck, the participants gained in-depth insights into the Hyperlink project, a key component of the German hydrogen core network and one of ten IPCEI projects in Bremen and Lower Saxony.
The discussions on site impressively illustrated how essential women's perspectives are for the successful design of the energy transition – from technical issues to cooperation formats to questions of promoting young talent. The exchange made it clear that diversity is a decisive success factor for the transformation of the energy system.
Special thanks go to Anke Alvermann-Schuler and Lara Amelie Hauck from Gasunie, who warmly welcomed the delegation and gave a vivid presentation of the project. We would also like to thank the Northwest Metropolitan Region, represented by Friederike Hackmann and Nicola Illing, who initiated and made this inspiring delegation trip possible.
