ISL Monthly Container Port Monitor (MCPM)

Our Monthly Container Port Monitor (MCPM) offers a comprehensive overview of recent developments regarding container throughput in major ports worldwide. The MCPM provides a benchmark for both ports and ship owners, enabling comparison of own business developments with regional and global trends to evaluate your performance.

The MCPM is based on data from 90 major global container ports, which jointly handle more than half of the total global container throughput. Components of the MCPM include:

The growth rates of container traffic are determined based on monthly comparison as well as in comparison to the corresponding month of the previous year, per trading area. Following trading areas are considered:
