SME 4.0 Competence Center Bremen

The "Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Bremen" supports and promotes small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital transformation efforts. The goal is to increase the level of digitization among SMEs through tailored support measures. As one of 25 nationwide Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Centers, the Bremen Center consolidates customized offerings, particularly for SMEs, and provides expert contacts.

Project objective

The goal is to increase digitalization competencies, especially for professionals and executives in the innovation clusters of maritime economy and logistics, wind energy, aerospace, automotive industry, as well as the food and beverage industry.

Focus on Digital Handling

At our center, the focus is on digitizing cargo handling and hinterland port traffic. Here, you can, among other things, simulate your processes to uncover potential improvements. Another area of action is the closer digital integration of stakeholders along a logistics chain to reduce frictional losses.

  • How can process modeling methods be effectively utilized in your digitalization projects?
  • Experience the possibilities of simulation and visualization for the intuitive assessment of optimization strategies in your company.
  • Learn about the potentials for efficiency improvement and process automation along the logistics chain through IT system interoperability and cargo identification technologies.
  • Find out which aspects of cybersecurity you should consider to minimize IT process risks in digitization projects.
