Review of the 15th MARLOG Conference 2026 in Alexandria, Egypt
The 15th MARLOG Conference brought together experts from around the world in Alexandria from 8 to 10 February 2026 to discuss key issues for the future of logistics.
The focus was on strategies for the efficient and sustainable design of maritime infrastructure projects, particularly with regard to logistics corridors and global trade growth. Other key topics included the development of green blue logistics corridors, the expansion of digital infrastructures, approaches to decarbonising transport and trade flows, and issues of economic growth and global competitiveness.
Numerous specialist presentations and panel discussions made it clear that logistics corridors must not only be efficient in future, but above all flexible and crisis-proof. Topics such as the integration of renewable energies, the use of digital technologies and new forms of cooperation along international value chains dominated the discussions.
The ISL also actively participated in the conference this year. Friederike Fontes presented her current research on the techno-economic analysis of direct seawater electrolysis, taking into account regional opportunities in northern Germany.
In addition to the technical programme, the MARLOG Conference 2026 offered numerous opportunities for international exchange and networking with representatives from science, industry and politics.
