ISL is celebrating ten years of membership of the Northern Germany Maritime Cluster
The ISL has been a member of the Northern Germany Maritime Cluster (MCN) for ten years and is thus part of one of the most important maritime networks in northern Germany. The MCN is a cross-state cluster initiative involving the five northern German coastal states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. It brings together stakeholders from business, academia and politics with the aim of sustainably strengthening the innovative capacity and competitiveness of the maritime sector.
With over 350 members today, the MCN provides a central platform for exchange, cooperation and knowledge transfer across the entire maritime value chain – from shipbuilding and the port industry, through logistics and marine technology, to digital and sustainable technologies. The focus is on promoting joint projects, establishing innovation partnerships and providing access to funding programmes and specialist networks.
For the ISL, membership means, above all, active involvement in this broad innovation and cooperation environment. As a scientific institute, the ISL benefits from close interaction with companies, associations and research institutions, whilst at the same time contributing its own expertise to the network. Participation in specialist groups and projects generates practical impetus for research and knowledge transfer, which feeds directly into the further development of the maritime sector.
This ten-year membership highlights the long-standing and successful collaboration between the ISL and the MCN. We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration within the network and to many more joint projects!
