ISL at the Bremerhaven Maritime Days
The Maritime Days in Bremerhaven took place once again in August 2026. This popular maritime event drew 330,000 visitors and over 40 ships to the city. Bremerhaven’s scientific community contributed to the event as part of the traditional "Science Mile." ISL Managing Director Prof. Dr. Nils Meyer-Larsen took this opportunity to introduce interested visitors to ISL and its activities.
Alongside topics such as container security and the civil defense of ports, the spotlight was on the EU project H2B:IMPACT, which is currently establishing Germany’s first EU-funded Hydrogen Valley in the state of Bremen. The goal is to foster public acceptance with respect to hydrogen technologies by engaging the local population — sharing information about project activities, promoting knowledge about hydrogen, and discussing any possible concerns. Furthermore, the event further strengthened ties with the other scientific institutions in Bremerhaven.
