ISL at Hydrogen Valley Days 2026
This week, Antwerp was hosting the third edition of the Hydrogen Valleys Days, co-organised by the EU’s Clean Hydrogen Partnership. ISL’s Managing Director Prof. Dr. Nils Meyer-Larsen represented the institute, being Technical Coordinator of the Bremen Hydrogen Valley H2B:IMPACT, at this exciting event.
On Monday, Valerie Bouillon-Delporte, Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, opened the event, comprising many interesting presentations and discussions around collaboration, technical topics such as hydrogen storage and infrastructure, recent developments and many more. She said "Ports are uniquely positioned to drive the hydrogen transition — serving as natural entry points for hydrogen and hydrogen carriers entering Europe, while enabling the development of cross-border hydrogen valleys. By connecting infrastructure, industry, and international collaboration, ports can accelerate hydrogen-powered, zero-emission mobility solutions at scale.“
Hydrogen Valleys are not just abstract concepts. In fact, through driving the development of new value chains, they are facilitating regional competitiveness, creating local jobs, new skills, industrial innovation, clean mobility, and port transformation. In that way they help regions position themselves in the emerging European hydrogen economy. The H2B:IMPACT coordination team used the opportunity to interact with representatives from many other European Hydrogen Valleys in order to discuss possible synergies and cooperation, enabling the exchange of ideas, concepts and experience.
