ISL participates in SAiL Bremerhaven 2025
Watch and explore ships, meet sailors – the SAiL Bremerhaven event is the ultimate experience for anyone who wants to get up close and personal with shipping and its people. With over 250 ships, from small boats to impressive tall ships, this year's SAiL 2025 was a maritime experience of the highest order – a must for anyone who loves the sea and its history.
Experience science with a sea view: During the SAiL, the „Science Mile“ of the „Pier of Science Bremerhaven“ network traditionally invites visitors to discover, research, and ask questions about science. In the „Schaufenster Fischereihafen“ touristic area located in the old Fishery Harbor, a number of Bremerhaven's scientific institutions responded to the SAiL guests' thirst for knowledge. ISL participated as well and presented its current research topics. ISL Managing Director Prof. Dr. Nils Meyer-Larsen and Friederike Fontes, head of ISL’s Maritime Hydrogen research group, informed the highly interested visitors about maritime research and led many stimulating discussions. This year's focus was on the highly important topic of hydrogen and PtX fuels as energy sources of the future.
