ISL presents H2 projects at the "Day of Maritime Hydrogen Applications"

The "Maritime Hydrogen Applications Day" was held in Norderstedt on 14 March 2024. This event, organised by Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg (EEHH) and other partners, provided a premium platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and innovations in the field of maritime hydrogen technologies. With a large number of interesting presentations, the event was aimed at everyone in northern Germany who conducts research in the field of hydrogen, is economically active or makes political decisions.

Nils Meyer-Larsen, representing ISL, participated in the event and provided an overview of ISL's ongoing projects and initiatives within the maritime hydrogen sector. In particular, he presented the INTERREG-funded EU project "Hydrogen Valley Ports", in which the ports of Bremen/Bremerhaven, Brest, Den Helder and Esbjerg will cooperate to establish an EU-wide network of ports on the subject of hydrogen technologies and to promote the exchange of relevant experience and best practices. This should also support small and medium-sized ports throughout the EU in establishing a hydrogen economy. Dr Meyer-Larsen also presented the MariSynFuel project on green methanol as a marine fuel, SeaEly on direct seawater electrolysis and PROVIDE on containerised hydrogen transport. The subsequent discussions showed that the conference participants were very interested in the topics addressed.
