ISL takes part in ReNEW Final Event in Ghent

ISL – Institut für Seeverkehrswirtschaft und Logistik – was pleased to take part in the final event on 19 June in Ghent, which brought together project partners, Living Labs and invited guests to reflect on three years of collaboration aimed at making inland waterway transport more resilient and sustainable.

The morning programme featured presentations from ReNEW Living Labs and insights from technical work packages, including WP1, where ISL coordinated a task focused on identifying current challenges and assessing resilience in inland waterway systems.

In the afternoon, participants joined a technical visit led by Peter Geirnaert  (OHB), coordinator of the Ghent Living Lab. A symbolic moment followed with the “baptism” of AVATAR III, ReNEW’s new zero-emission electric vessel.

The day concluded with a forward-looking panel discussion on the future of inland navigation.
