Second milestone meeting of the HibeBB project
Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, 7 October 2026: At the second milestone meeting of the HibeBB project – Heat Protection for Particularly Exposed Occupational Groups in the State of Bremen – the project partners, the Smart Mobility Institute (SMI) at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and the Institute for Maritime Transport and Logistics (ISL), presented the current status of the project, the results achieved to date and an outlook on the work ahead.
The meeting with the project sponsor, the Bremer Aufbau-Bank (BAB), focused on the work carried out to date to assess the current state of knowledge and the adaptation measures already implemented in companies. To this end, numerous interviews were conducted with specialists and managers, and an online survey was carried out with occupational health and safety specialists and company doctors.
In addition, the project team presented the findings of their research into existing and suitable adaptation measures to protect workers from heat.
Another key focus of the milestone meeting was the project’s information and communication strategy. The aim is to present the wealth of findings in a way that is tailored to specific target groups, to raise awareness amongst companies and workers of the health risks posed by heat, and to support them in implementing suitable adaptation measures.
