SPorT Community kick-off event

The official launch on 22 May 2025 in Bremerhaven marks the start of the SPorT community - a joint project by ISL, the University of Bremen and the ports of Bremen to promote digitalisation and innovation in the port industry.

The Smartport Transfer (SPorT) project was selected as one of only 20 projects nationwide as part of the BMBF's DATIpilot funding programme. The aim is to network science, business and administration in an open innovation community and to jointly develop practical solutions for the ports of the future.

The participatory approach is special: the community itself decides which measures are to be funded. ISL is contributing its extensive expertise in maritime logistics to the project.

The kick-off event will take place on 22 May from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the German Emigration Centre in Bremerhaven. The project team will be available for press interviews from 1 pm.
