WINDFORCE Conference 2026: ISL engages with the offshore wind industry

Last week saw the WINDFORCE Conference 2026 take place, which serves as a key meeting point for stakeholders in the offshore wind energy sector. The ISL was also represented at the event. As part of the European ORESA project, two staff members attended the conference to keep abreast of the latest industry developments and to foster professional exchange.

WINDFORCE provided a valuable platform for engaging with relevant stakeholders, gathering new insights and further expanding existing networks. Particular focus was placed on topics relating to sustainable transformation, safety requirements, planning certainty for wind farm and grid expansion, and the need for associated timely tenders.

The insights gained will be directly incorporated into the work of the ORESA project. The aim of the project is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the profitable implementation of sustainable strategies in the offshore sector and to actively help shape the transition.

An important next step in this process is the establishment of the German ORESA hub, which is scheduled to launch in early 2027. Together with other hubs to be established as part of the project in the partner countries – the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Ireland – this hub will play a central role in raising awareness of sustainability within the sector, implementing sustainable solutions profitably, connecting companies in a targeted manner and opening up new opportunities for skilled workers.

Participation in WINDFORCE has once again demonstrated how important personal exchange is for the further development of innovative and sustainable solutions in offshore wind energy, and how significant initiatives such as ORESA are for the future of the sector.
