ISL experts share insights at high-level hydrogen workshop

The INTERREG-funded project North Sea Hydrogen Valley Ports aims to develop a road map for hydrogen infrastructures along the North Sea, fostering collaboration in the EU North Sea Region. On 24th and 25th February, 2025 ISL’s hydrogen experts Prof. Dr. Nils Meyer-Larsen, Dr. Marija Jovic, and Wiebke Duhme attended the second consortium meeting which took place in Esbjerg, kindly hosted by the port of Esbjerg.

Over two action-packed days, insights were shared, key developments were explored, and partnerships were strengthened that will drive the energy transition forward. One of the highlights was a visit to the Port of Esbjerg, the world’s largest base port for offshore wind. Seeing firsthand the scale and ambition of this industry leader was impressive and inspiring.

Furthermore, the project’s approach and ambition were discussed with a high-level group of stakeholders leading the way in hydrogen energy in Denmark and beyond. The fruitful discussions resulted in a common understanding with respect to future collaboration, developing strategies for building a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem, bridging hydrogen energy innovation to reshape the future of the North Sea region.

This project is cofunded by the INTERREG North Sea programme.
