ISL is the first German member of NS HyMaP

The North Sea Hydrogen Ports and Maritime Community (NS HyMaP) is a membership-based association that was established in 2021. The main objective of the association is to promote the use of hydrogen in the North Sea ports and the maritime sector. This is considered as an effective and efficient pathway to achieve climate neutrality in one of the most important maritime regions of the EU.

The members of NS HyMaP come from various areas, including the port industry, the hydrogen as well as the maritime sector, the local and regional authorities, scientific institutions and consulting firms.

Since May 2023, ISL has become the first German member of NS HyMaP. Dr. Nils Meyer-Larsen, ISL expert for hydrogen and PtX, is delighted about the membership and the associated opportunities for exchange.

Based on ISL's experience in the field of hydrogen and PtX energy carriers gained through a number of related projects and studies in the recent years, our goal is to contribute to an information exchange with the NS HyMaP community, thus stimulating debate and joint working to promote hydrogen production, storage, transportation and applications in the ports and maritime sectors. In that way, we aim to identify project opportunities and advise on project applications and their implementation.
