ISL participated in 5th SEAMLESS general assembly in Valencia
On 18th and 19th November, the Fundación Valenciaport hosted the 5th SEAMLESS general assembly in the historic ‘Clock Building’ (Edificio del Reloj) in the heart of the port of Valencia. ISL was represented by our colleagues Arne Gehlhaar, Jakob Ovens and Patrick Specht.
The two days of the event focused on the presentation of the project's progress as well as intensive work phases. In particular, the physical and digital realisation of the concepts developed so far was discussed in detail and developed further. Another highlight of the event was a tour within the port of Valencia. The participants were given an insight into a current innovation project to test hydrogen-powered handling equipment as a building block for sustainable port logistics. The ship coordination centre and pilot station were also visited.
The SEAMLESS project aims to develop and test highly automated logistics concepts for short sea shipping and inland waterway transport. It is funded as part of the European Commission's ‘Horizon Europe’ innovation programme and coordinated by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
